Verification Status Definitions

When we verify an email, we assign a specific status code based on our 9-step validation process. Here is exactly what each result means for your mailing list.

Status Code Meaning Technical Checks Recommended Action
Valid The email address exists and is ready to receive messages.
  • Syntax OK
  • MX Records Active
  • SMTP Handshake (250 OK)
Safe to Send
Invalid The mailbox does not exist or the address has a typo.
  • User Unknown (550 Error)
  • Domain Typo
Remove / Block
No MX Found The domain exists (e.g. google.com) but is not configured to receive email.
  • DNS Query Success
  • 0 Valid MX Records
Remove
Connection Error The mail server is online but rejected our connection (Firewall/Greylist).
  • Connection Timeout
  • Greylisting Active
Retry Later
